J. Fernando Alfaro

Fernando Alfaro is a biomedical MEMS researcher with an exceptional background in micro-electro-mechanical systems. Dr. Alfaro has experience in the modeling, simulation, and analysis of MEMS, as well as in photolithography, microfabrication, and testing. His research has addressed telemetric systems for bioimplantable devices, integrated circuit analog designs, and MEMS interface circuits. Dr. Alfaro graduated from the Tecnológico de Monterrey with a Bachelor of Science and later earned his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University. His work experience includes positions at TE Connectivity and Silicon Microstructures, Inc., where he was Senior MEMS Design Engineer. He has also held academic roles as an electrical and computer engineering professor at ITESM Campus Monterrey and as a postdoctoral and graduate research assistant at the Institute for Complex Engineered Systems at Carnegie Mellon University. Additionally, Dr. Alfaro was once a design engineer for Silicon Microstructures, Inc. and a software developer for Dextra Technologies, International.
