Fergus Pitt is the Director of Media and Communications at the Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC) and Asia Investor Group on Climate Change (AIGCC), a position he has held since January 2022.12 With over 20 years of experience in sustainable finance, communications, public policy, and research, Pitt is responsible for directing IGCC and AIGCC's communications work, including strategy, media relations, positioning, and identity.12
Before joining IGCC, Pitt served as the Head of Strategic Communications at Impact Investment Group, an Australian impact investment funds manager specializing in clean energy systems and green buildings.13 He has also produced influential work for The Australia Institute, an independent policy think tank, focusing on media policy.2
Pitt's academic background includes a Master of Arts in Business and Economics Journalism from Columbia University, where he was awarded the C.V. Starr Scholarship, and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from RMIT University.12 His experience extends to roles such as Senior Research Fellow at Columbia University's Tow Center for Digital Journalism and leading the digital products department for ABC Radio.24
In his current role at IGCC, Pitt works with a network of Australian and New Zealand investors managing more than $30 trillion globally, representing over 7.5 million beneficiaries.4 His focus is on helping investors respond to the risks and opportunities of climate change through policy advocacy, corporate engagement, and capacity building for portfolio alignment with net-zero goals by 2050.4
