Fergus Bell is a renowned multi-format digital journalist and editor with several years of experience in the journalism industry. He is a graduate of the University of Leeds, where he studied Broadcast Journalism, graduating with a 2:1. Bell is the co-founder and CEO of Fathm, an independent news lab and consultancy, where he applies his passion for the future of journalism and combating the threat of misinformation.

Bell has held several positions in various organizations throughout his career. He has served as a member of the Board at Online News Association, Faculty Member at European Broadcasting Union's EBU Academy, and Founder, News & Media Consultant at Dig Deeper Media Ltd, amongst others. He has also been involved in advising startups and companies, serving as an advisor at Krzana and Strategic Advisor at Acusense Technologies, focusing on finding news and media through AI and human verification.

Before founding Fathm, Bell worked at various media houses, including Associated Press, where he served as Senior Producer and Social Media and UGC Editor - International. He was also previously the Head of Newsroom Partnerships and Innovation at SAM Ltd, where he worked with media organizations to develop new ways of doing journalism. Bell began his journalism career as a production assistant at CNN and later worked as a Broadcast Journalist/Newsreader at different radio stations such as Stray FM, the Bright 106.4, and 96.4 The Eagle/Countysound.
