Federico Fruhbeck

Federico Fruhbeck is no longer a partner at Vinson & Elkins. He is currently a partner in the London office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP.12 At Gibson Dunn, Federico serves as co-chair of the Projects and Infrastructure Practice Group, co-head of Private Equity in Europe, and a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions and Capital Markets Practice Groups.1

Federico's practice focuses on cross-border M&A transactions across Europe and Latin America, particularly in the infrastructure, ESG, and real assets sectors.1 He advises private equity clients and large family-owned conglomerates, as well as issuers and underwriters on capital markets transactions.1

Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Federico was indeed a partner at Vinson & Elkins in London.13 He was promoted to partner at V&E in 2018, a few months after joining the firm as of counsel.3 Before V&E, he practiced with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York and London.1

Federico is highly regarded in his field. He was named in The Lawyer's Hot 100 2022 list and is recommended by The Legal 500 UK 2024 as a leading individual for Infrastructure: M&A and Acquisition Financing.1 He received his law degree from Universidad Pontificia Comillas and an LL.M. from Columbia Law School.1
