Kenneth W. Irvin is an accomplished energy lawyer with extensive regulatory, enforcement, compliance, and transactional experience in the US wholesale electricity and natural gas markets. He has represented clients before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and state energy regulatory agencies on various physical and financial wholesale power and gas matters, including mergers, RTO/ISO markets, energy, and capacity markets. He is well-versed in cross-border trade with Mexico and Canada and has represented the Mexican Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) in developing new gas pipelines from Texas to the border and acquiring gas supplies to serve CFE’s needs. Irvin is a sought-after speaker and has spoken at various conferences and seminars on energy matters. He is a partner and co-chair of the Energy Practice Team at Sidley Austin LLP and has also worked with other leading law firms in the US.
