Eric Dashner, an experienced attorney and compliance professional, has a proven track record of success in the commodities and derivatives regulatory space. He is currently serving as senior counsel in the Derivatives and FX Section of the Wells Fargo Legal Department, where he handles a variety of legal and compliance matters relating to the trading of financial and physical derivatives, LIBOR transition, and regulatory response to COVID-19.

Eric's expertise lies in the areas of Commodities and derivatives regulatory, including FERC, SEC, and CFTC matters, general litigation and enforcement. He has extensive knowledge of CFTC regulations relating to physicals, swaps and futures, including mandatory clearing and exceptions and exemptions thereto (Part 50), derivatives clearing organization registration and compliance (Part 39), regulatory and real-time public reporting (Parts 45 and 43), swap dealer business conduct requirements (Part 23), and Volcker (Part 75). Eric is also an expert in new security-based swap regulations for security-based swap dealers.

Eric holds a Juris Doctor degree from Duke University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy from Georgetown University. Before joining Wells Fargo, he served as Special Counsel at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and worked at law firms like DLA Piper and Hogan Lovells as an associate. Eric has also worked as a law clerk at the United States Court of Federal Claims.
