Houston Gilbert

Houston Gilbert is an accomplished clinical statistician with a background in molecular biology. After earning a BS from Harvey Mudd College, Houston went on to complete an MPH and a PhD in Biostatistics and Computational Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. Passionate about the intersection of oncology drug development and personalized healthcare, Houston has gained extensive experience in clinical drug development, clinical and experimental trial design, preclinical and translational research, companion and complementary diagnostic development, evaluation of biological assays and novel technologies, bioinformatics, and multiple hypothesis testing in both clinical and genomic settings.

Houston has held various positions at Genentech, including Principal Statistical Scientist, Associate Director in Early Development Oncology Biostatistics and PHC, and Senior Statistical Scientist. Houston has also served as Senior Director of Biostatistics at Bellicum Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and is currently the Executive Director and Head of Biometrics at Arcus Biosciences.

Houston studied on a Fulbright Fellowship at the Universität Bielefeld and has worked as a Public Administration Associate/Epidemiology Intern at CA DHS STD Control Branch and as a Staff Research Associate at UC Berkeley Division of Infectious Diseases and Immunity.
