Lee Byron
Lee Byron is a versatile and accomplished talent in the technology and design industry. He is famously known for co-creating GraphQL, a powerful API query language, and currently serves as the Director of GraphQL Foundation. Lee’s extensive expertise in the field stems from his education, which includes a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from Carnegie Mellon University.
Before his work on GraphQL, Lee worked as a Maker and Mobile Hacker at Facebook, where he contributed to the development of the social media platform. He also worked as a Graphics Editor and Graphics Engineer at The New York Times, where he put his design skills to work in crafting infographics and graphics-driven stories. Additionally, Lee has experience working in research, having served as an Intern Design Researcher at IBM and a User Experience Design Intern at Microsoft.
Today, Lee is part of the engineering team at Robinhood, a stock trading app. In his role there, he helps create functional and intuitive solutions for users. As a former Teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University and Lead Web Designer at Cassis International, Lee has also demonstrated his ability to effectively communicate and train others.
