1.  Provide assistance to the conservation stewardship director and stewardship program manager in researching, mapping, and communicating about issues related to conservation easement violations, approvals, and interpretations. 2.  Assist in the conservation easement monitoring program, including conducting annual monitoring visits, and assisting in preparation of monitoring materials.  3.  Prepare updated baseline documentation reports, including fieldwork, compiling conservation data, and utilizing digital photography, GPS, and GIS technologies.  Coordinate efforts to prioritize updated baseline documentation reports. 4.  Maintain records (electronic and paper files) of a growing portfolio of conservation easement projects and assist with data management and reporting. 5.  Assist the land protection, fee lands, restoration, and communication teams as assigned. 6.  Provide general office support as needed and perform other tasks as needed.Technicial Skills: Experience using Conservation Track Land Trust software, experience making project maps using ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro, experience interpreting basic title information and reading legal descriptions in Abstract and Torrens. - iNaturalist Pro Observer for the MABI Centennial BioBlitz 2016- Assisted with strategic and logistical planning of the Park's Centennial Event - Worked alongside the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps and Woodstock Union High School students to plan and create an outdoor classroom trail (3 weeks, 0.2 miles in hillside terrain). - Ran 10 Woodstock Elementary School's Winter Fun Fridays- which aimed at getting kids outside in their local National Park.-Assisted with Working Woodlands Workshops in the park-Created an all encompassing park natural resources GIS Data/ Metadata Inventory-Planned and conducted a park-wide culvert, bridge, and curtain drain survey including length and material attributes. Collection was completed using a portable GPS unit, and analysis/ visualization was conducted using ArcMap and ArcCatalog 10.3.1-Further visualized above GIS data through NPS Tiles- a "live data-driven map", which included basic HTML coding and use of GitHub repositories. - Planted a native purple coneflower pollinator garden (41 plants) along the Avenue of Flags at Mt. Rushmore National Monument.-Conducted timber surveys (DBH measurements and GPS locations) throughout Mt. Rushmore National Monument-Developed comprehensive budget spreadsheet and four ArcGIS maps to represent costs and harvest areas for scenic vista project.-Used ArcPad and an Archer 2 GPS unit to inventory locations of invasive and exotic species within the monument boundary, as well as document treatments of herbicide within the park. -Treated exotic and invasive species with herbicide crews (Exotic Plant Management Team/ EPMT) using backpack sprayers and cut stump treatments at Wind Cave National Monument, Jewel Cave National Monument, Badlands National Park and Mt. Tasks include: researching historical documents and writing historical narratives, inventorying trees, cataloging natural features, taking photographs and collecting historical and contemporary photography of sites, making and/or collecting maps, performing interviews with key stakeholder, and developing comprehensive case studies on the greens. - Developed research project to study natural progression of plant communities in four different community types (Marsh, meadow, woods, pond) over a span of 3 months.-Hiked on vast trail to locate sites.-Used plant identification and plant anatomy/biology skills to determine all plants at each site, and compiled data on Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.-Developed a website page (linked to the HMCA website) for public use, based on my research.

Natural History Intern

As a Rubenstein Steward, I act as a liaison between the undergraduates, graduates, faculty, staff, and Dean of the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources. The Stewards team accomplishes this "chain of communication" by planning events that build community within the many groups of our school. So far, we've hosted the end-of-year community celebration, monthly community lunches, internship panels, workshops, and fundraisers, all of which were attended by a broad variation of faculty, undergraduates, graduates, and community members.One of my main focuses as a steward, is driven by a passion for professional development and career building skills. In this regard, I develop and lead bi-monthly resume and cover letter workshops specifically crafted for students pursuing environmental careers, as well as give one-on-one resume consultations during my weekly office hours. Another part of my job involves a high degree of interaction with prospective, accepted, and transfer students through admitted student days. During these days, I give interactive green-building, and general tours of the Aiken Building to the students and their families. In addition, I sit on an undergraduate panel and answer questions about student life and extracurricular involvement at UVM. I also make follow-up calls to the prospective students to answer any existing questions they may have.

As a VISTA with the Vermont Youth Tomorrow AmeriCorps VISTA program, I partnered with the University of Vermont Extension and 4-H Youth Agriculture Project in my hometown of Brattleboro, Vermont. For part of my job, I worked on-site with the Summer Work and Learn crew at the UVM Extension Farm. This entailed doing daily farm chores alongside the crew, as well as running a couple of job-development workshops. In addition, I coordinated a mentoring program between the SWL crew and a local housing project camp focused on giving the SWL crew the opportunity to become positive leaders, and teach the visiting children about gardening, farming, and nutrition. For the other part of my job, I traveled off-site to a summer feeding site in Brattleboro to educate youth ages 4-16 about healthy living practices, physical fitness, nutrition, and farm education. This involved weekly planning of educational games, green crafts, and nutritional baking curriculum, as well as gathering material or monetary donations to fund the projects from local businesses and the University of Vermont Extension.

As a substitute teacher, I fill in for head-teachers and paraprofessionals in the Windham Southeast Supervisory District. My main focus group is with students kindergarten through sixth grade at four local elementary schools in the Brattleboro, Vermont area.During this time, I gained a lot of experience working with students that had a variety of different learning styles and needs, such as aspergers, dyslexia, and behavioral problems. I also gained experience in teaching specialized math & english programs.

During my time with the Brattleboro Parks and Recreation Department, I worked as a Day Camp Counselor, Pool Cashier and Checker, Ice Skating Rink Guard and Cashier, and Recreational Soccer League Referee. Through these jobs, I gained supple experience in: -Balancing, tendering, and exchanging money.-Serving as a leader for a "pack" of 15-20 small children aged 5-13.-First aid techniques with my patrons at the pool, rink, and at camp.-Keeping an open line of communication between the public and the Recreation and Parksdepartment.-Making tough judgement calls on plays on the soccer field.-Helping to create a safe and positive environment that children could learn in, and families couldutilize and enjoy.
