Benjamin Freedman is an accomplished scientist, with a focus on human pluripotent stem cells to develop treatments for kidney disease. He graduated from Fasman Yeshiva High School and holds a PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BA in Biochemistry and Biology from the University of Pennsylvania. He has previously worked as an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a Postdoctoral Researcher at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Freedman is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington, where he leads research into the development of new drugs to treat kidney disease and the growth of new kidney units from a patient's own cells.
