Brandy Mickens has an impressive background in the financial services industry and community as a respected leader. She studied at Southern Methodist University - Cox School of Business, focusing on Finance with a minor in Economics. After graduating, she began her career as a Financial Consultant at AXA Advisors, and later became a Regional Vice President. During her time with the Retirement Benefits Group in Texas, she was named the Dallas RBG Associate of the Year, and built a personal practice with over 2,000 clients in partnership with Dallas ISD. In 2014, she became a District Manager, where she coached and developed a successful team of advisors who helped people reach their financial goals. Brandy has been recognized nationally for her achievements and leadership, including being selected as an Emerging Leader from 2016-2018, achieving the #2 TSM Development Award in Hiring and Development in 2015, chosen as a speaker for several company and industry conferences, and selected to lead as a member of the Diversity Field Advisory council.

In 2020, Brandy was appointed as the Executive Vice President of MidAmerica at Equitable Advisors, where she and her business partner, Gregg LaSpisa, oversee offices in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. She remains active in her community, serving as a mentor, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and as the former Development Chair for the SMU Black Alumni Association, where she was awarded the History Makers Award. Brandy's faith is also an essential part of her life, and she is happily married with a four-year-old daughter and a fun-loving pup, residing in Cleveland, Ohio.
