Farzad Azimpour, MD
Farzad Azimpour, MD, is a prominent cardiologist with a strong background in medtech design and innovation. He works as the Senior Vice President of Strategic Innovation in the Advanced Technology Unit at Edwards Lifesciences, leading strategic innovation and internal incubation initiatives. Farzad is responsible for operationalizing the upstream processes of unmet clinical needs characterization, concept generation, and proof of concept prototyping and testing to translate new projects to R&D, clinical, and regulatory pathways ahead. He completed his training in medicine and cardiology at Cleveland Clinic and the University of Minnesota's Lillehei Heart Institute, respectively. Moreover, he worked as an Adjunct Professor in Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine, and as Co-Founder at Muvr Labs, Inc. Farzad's expertise in structural heart disease has led him to receive Phi Beta Kappa distinction and the Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine Award.
