Farrell Sklerov is a seasoned public relations expert with a wealth of experience spanning 15 years in the tech, government, and agency sectors. With a strong background in developing and implementing communication strategies, he has worked with a diverse range of high-profile corporate and non-profit clients, as well as prominent elected officials and government agencies.
During his tenure at Rubenstein, Farrell spearheaded media campaigns, strategic planning, messaging, and issues management for clients across various industries, including tech, public policy, business and finance, real estate, and media and entertainment. Drawing from his extensive experience in Mayor Michael Bloomberg's administration, he adeptly navigated political and government-focused communications, excelling in handling complex client objectives and crisis situations. Additionally, Farrell is well-versed in managing communications related to labor negotiations, a skillset honed over time.
Prior to his role at Rubenstein, Farrell served as the Director of Communications at the NYC Department of Environmental Protection, where he oversaw press operations, internal and external communications, as well as the web/graphics unit. He also held the position of Assistant Director of Communications in the Mayor's Office, managing editorial board and columnist outreach for city agencies. Notably, he was the inaugural Press Secretary of the Mayor's Office of State Legislative Affairs in Albany, championing media strategy and issue advocacy for City Hall on State matters while advocating for legislative concerns of City agencies like the NYPD, FDNY, Criminal Justice, and Department of Buildings.
Farrell commenced his career in politics as the Director of Community Outreach for a New York City congressman. His academic journey boasts a Bachelor of Arts degree in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from Cornell University.
