As Chief Operating and Financial Officer, I led the majority of Parallel’s operating functions including cultivation, production, supply chain, commercialization and retail activities.  I also led corporate finance, investor relations, tax and shared service activities.

I led corporate finance, accounting, treasury, investor relations, tax and shared services activities on a global basis.  We focused on driving an aggressive global transformational agenda to accelerate profitable growth.  Our M&A agenda created new platforms in health and wellness and emerging markets, while divesting declining businesses and brands.  Our operations agenda streamlined our global supply chain, refocused organization models and funded growth investments in markets, brands and capabilities.

The Kellogg Company was a leading food company operating in over 220 countries worldwide with 2018 revenues of over $13 billion.  Kellogg (NYSE: K), strives to make foods people love. I led all finance, accounting and treasury functions including shared business services.  I was also responsible for M&A, a key strategic driver of our growth strategy and portfolio transformation.  I had the privilege of leading US Foods successful IPO in 2016.  Raising over $1.1 billon, it was the largest IPO that year and the largest Consumer Products IPO in over 15 years.  Our strategy focused on accelerated growth from a focused customer strategy, food innovation, brand building, e-commerce leadership and supply chain efficiencies driven by fundamental changes to our organization and operating model. 

US Foods is a leading foodservice distributor with net sales of over $23 billion.   US. Foods (NYSE: USFD) provides an important link between 5,000 suppliers and 250,000 foodservice customers nationwide, offering an innovative array of fresh, frozen and dry food and non-food products consisting of over 400,000 items.  The Company offers leading brands and has one of the most extensive private label product portfolios in foodservice distribution.  US Foods employed over 25,000 employees and operated over 61 distribution centers nationwide.   Prior to its IPO, US Foods was owned by funds managed by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice Inc. (CD&R) and Kohlberg Kravis and Roberts & Co. (KKR), two leaders in Private Equity investing.

I led all finance, investor relations, strategy shared service, accounting, investor relations, strategy and enterprise IT functions.  We developed and implemented a new strategy focused on diversifying into higher growth markets, supply chain optimization through technology investment and cost efficiency for margin expansion.

United Stationers Inc. is a leading national wholesale distributor of business products, with net sales of over $5 billion. The business was acquired by Staples Inc.  Before the acquisition the business was publicly traded (NYSE: USTR).  United stocks a broad assortment of over 140,000 products, including technology products, traditional office products, office furniture, janitorial and breakroom supplies, and industrial supplies. The Company’s network of 64 distribution centers allows it to ship products to approximately 25,000 reseller customers, enabling the Company to ship most products overnight to more than 90% of the U.S. and next day delivery to major cities in Mexico and Canada.

I led finance, accounting, treasury, investor relations on a global basis.  I also had responsibility for Information Technology and Corporate Strategy.  

USG is North America's leading producer and distributor of gypsum wallboard, joint compound and a vast array of related products for the construction and remodeling industries.  The Company was roughly $6 billion in revenue and publicly traded (NYSE: USG) during my tenure.  USG is the global leader in the manufacture of ceiling suspension systems and are recognized as the premier acoustical panel and specialty ceiling systems innovator.

I was President & CEO, USG Building Systems, USG Corporation’s largest operating division. I was responsible for over 9,000 employees located across 60 production facilities. Reporting to me were several business units, each with annual revenues ranging from $300 to $550 million, as well as “shared” functional organizations such as sales, national accounts, marketing, customer service and manufacturing.  

Other roles included:  Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing; Senior Vice President, Supply Chain Management, Customer Relationship Management and Information Technology; Vice President, Marketing; Director, Strategy and Business Development.

I led the design, launch and support of radiation-based cancer therapy and related medical devices.  I also developed and tested containers for the global transport of radioactive materials for medical and industrial applications.

Project Engineer

I was part of a team leading the implementation of factory-floor production control and information systems during start-up and scale-up of an automobile manufacturing company that was a pilot for brining Japanese manufacturing best practices to General Motors.  I led Kaizen initiatives and quality circle activities and had deep exposure to lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, TQM and the Toyota production system.

CAMI Automotive Inc. is a joint venture between General Motors and Suzuki producing cars and SUVs for the North American market.
