Fahian Huq is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Operations Management at the Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS), where he also holds the position of Chair in Operations and Supply Chain Management and serves as the Head of the Management Sciences Group. His academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Management Science from Lancaster University, where he was awarded a prestigious doctoral studentship, and a Master of Science in Supply Chain and Operations Management from Nottingham University Business School, supported by the Developing Solutions Scholarship.1
Dr. Huq's research focuses on sustainable supply chain management, risk management in supply chains, and innovative operations management practices, particularly within emerging economies. His work has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Operations Management and Journal of Business Ethics. He is also active in editorial roles, serving on the Editorial Review Board of the International Journal of Operations & Production Management and as a guest editor for a special issue on ethics in the Journal of Business Ethics.12
In addition to his academic responsibilities, Dr. Huq has practical experience in the manufacturing sector, having co-founded two companies in Bangladesh. His teaching expertise spans various levels, including undergraduate and executive education, with a focus on subjects like Operations Management and Sustainable Supply Chain Management. He has received multiple accolades for his teaching excellence and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) .13
