Working in a team of 7, the team is responsible for managing/designing and implementing all Wintel products. The job is split around 60/40 Projects/BAU.

My responsibilities include;

Maintain all hardware and software is kept up to date and functioning as per SLA's
Proactively monitor all systems, and resolves issues as they arise
Work with Project Managers/Business owners to design, implement and deliver projects
Manage and support IT systems including XenDesktop, Citrix PVS, Netscalers, VMware ESX, SQL, SCCM, Mcafee Enterprise Suite, Websense, Netbackup and HP Server Hardware and Storage.
Investigate enhancement and upgrade options to ensure that the environment remains within vendor support, and recommend value-add features which are suitable for the organisation
Work in conjunction with team members and other IT teams, the business, and external vendors to ensure that the future roadmap of the organisation’s messaging environment fulfils the business requirements and is fit for purpose
Maintain DR procedures
Action and resolve calls assigned to the position or team within the IT Service Management tool.
Participate in or coordinate project work as required
Provide after hours on call support

Some of my achievements include;

Designing/Building a XenDesktop 7 Infrastructure using Provisioning Services to cater for 2000 concurrent users
Building of the new Symantec NetBackup backup environment
Relocation of our Primary Datacentre, and a complete hardware refresh
Multiple successful DR tests

System Engineer

Working in a team of 7 Engineers, the team is responsible for managing Citrix products such as Citrix Access Gateway, XenApp, XenDesktop, Password Manager, within the Suncorp Environment. My role includes;

- Project Consulting to Suncorp Businesses. Such as AAMI, GIO, Asteron and Vero and many more.
- Proactive and reactive maintenance of Citrix products within Suncorp
- Effective delivery of operational and support services for the platform
- Using initiative and consultation to develop and set clear direction for the platform.

Some of my achievements include;

- Implementation/Design of the Citrix Single Sign On, with Self Service Password Reset, to the entire Suncorp Fleet of over 17000 users.
- Integrating new businesses, Terri Scheer, into our Suncorp Citrix Environment
- Administration and Profiling for Smart Environments Pilot, over 400 users now using Smart Environments in Met Centre which include Win7/XP XenDesktops.
- Awarded for working on the Queensland Flood Crisis Team
