He earned a degree at SDSU before embarking on a career in finance that included high-level positions at banks like Amalgamated and New Resource, where he strengthened community partnerships and spearheaded market expansion initiatives. He also served as a board member and chair of SFMade and Baykeeper, where he leveraged his financial acumen to drive growth and create environmentally responsible programs. Groff joined Mango Materials as a Chief Commercial Officer and helped the company develop an innovative and eco-friendly approach to manufacturing biopolymers from biogas waste, making it financially competitive with plastics made from petroleum.
