Faans Gaurav Gupta
Dr. Faans Gaurav Gupta is the Director of Endovascular and Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he also leads the Neurological Disorders in Pregnancy Program and the New Jersey Brain Aneurysm and AVM program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.
With an illustrious academic background, Dr. Gupta completed his general surgery training at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. He then pursued his Neurosurgery residency at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School, where he eventually served as Chief Resident. He further honed his expertise through a fellowship in Endovascular Neurosurgery at the same institution.
As an accomplished academic neurosurgeon, Dr. Gupta has authored numerous book chapters and scientific papers published in prestigious National and International Journals, covering both basic neuroscience and clinical neurosurgery. His groundbreaking work on the transplantation of neural stem cells and neural progenitor cells in the brain for stroke earned him the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association Young Investigator of the Year award and was recognized as a top 10 research advance globally in 2001.
In addition to his roles at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, he has also served as the Former Director of Cerebrovascular and Endovascular Neurosurgery at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and the Former Fellowship Director of the Endovascular Neurosurgery fellowship at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
