Secondary projects included: providing low- to no-cost surgeries for poor, rural Guatemalans through Partner in Health; implementing a community daycare center for underprivileged pre-schoolers; and creating a women’s cooperative for handicrafts production and sales.

Served two years on the project steering committee, one year as an on-site mentor to new volunteers in the Eastern region of the country, and three months as the pre-service technical co-trainer to entering volunteers.
