Professionalized the buying department by standardization of process flows, supplier categorization and implementation of TCO and supply chain optimization.

Responsible for HEMA's volume (commodity) buying and EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) sourcing department. Set up of strategy and team of commodity buyers in consumer goods (hardware and textiles) and EMEA sourcing team. Responsible for sourcing offices in Turkey, Israel and Pakistan.

- Responsible for sourcing and order follow up of Hema consumer products in China with an order value of over  €50 million in 2011. Managing a multi-cultural team of 24 professionals. •	Realised a yearly growth of 5-15% during 2008-2011 and developed the team from 16 to 24 people, including an added middle management layer. •	Responsible for various sourcing and buying projects in North-East China which brought additional savings or revenues of €200.000-€800.000 per project. •	Realised yearly targets in delivery reliability, quality control and social compliance of Hema suppliers in China. •	In four years, Hema Shanghai Representative office has grown into the biggest sourcing office for Hema Far East, processes are standardized and SOP’s have been established.

- Responsible for the operational management team of the factory, consisting of production, planning, quality control, R&D and production engineering. •	Managed 400-700 employees, depending on high/low season of production. •	Implemented improvements in quality control, production efficiency and developed an employee bonus system.

- Responsible for the production line based on self managed work teams in 3 shifts. •	Managed 35-45 employees, including their selection and evaluation. Responsible for optimal planning and maintenance, and the set up of SOP’s. Initiated projects to improve the line efficiency, starting with investment proposals followed by implementation until efficiency targets are met.

- Lead an improvement project based on the Six Sigma methodology to reduce the percentage of waste on a production line.•	Daily management of project team•	Realised the targets on waste reduction: from initally  6.77% to 5.2% after project implementation with a yearly saving of €132.000,-

- Responsible for the improvement of quality and efficiency of the logistic services and physical flows of the department Warehousing and Services. The project was conducted as part of my thesis. •	Developed a redesign with a high ROI in cooperation with a self founded project team. Targets of the project were met, with an implemented redesign in which 3 FTE’s could be reduced next to a yearly saving of €44.000 on the contract with the waste management company, against an initial investment of  €325.000.
