Soraya Verjee is a highly accomplished education professional, with a particular passion for teacher training and development. She studied Bioengineering at the University of California, Berkeley, before embarking on a multifaceted career within the education sector. She began her journey as a Corps Member at Teach for America, before progressing to roles including Director of Recruitment and Strategic Planning at KIPP New Orleans Schools, Finance Manager at Envision Schools, and Associate Consultant at The Bridgespan Group. She then spent several years at Collegiate Academies, starting as an Algebra I Teacher before moving up to Director of Human Capital, and ultimately Chief Talent Officer. Verjee has a deep understanding of the many different elements that contribute to educational success, from policy and curriculum to school culture and operational efficiency. However, she firmly believes that the most important factor is the teacher themselves, and she is passionate about providing the guidance, support and training that helps teachers truly thrive. Her ultimate goal is to ensure that every student has access to the opportunity to grow and achieve their full potential, through the dedication and expertise of their teachers.
