Nate Nakao is an experienced professional with a diverse background in fundraising, marketing, communication, and event planning. His robust skill set has been honed throughout his career in the corporate private sector and nonprofit sphere, including volunteer team management. Nate studied French language and literature at Montclair State University and Creative Writing at Bob Jones University, where he developed a passion for clear and effective communication. After completing his studies, he began working as an Ice Skating Instructor at Aspen Ice Arena, and then as a Managed Care Coordinator at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey. Nate went on to work at SGS, a leading inspection, verification, testing, and certification company, where he held several roles, including Client Services Representative, Key Account Manager, and Junior Business Development Executive and Marketing Liaison. During his time at SGS, Nate honed his business acumen and expanded his skill set into various areas, including event planning and marketing.

Nate's career has also included various leadership positions in the nonprofit sphere. He served as the Director of Children's Ministries at EmergenceNJ.org and as Interim Liquid Kids Leader at Liquid Church. Currently, Nate is an Alumni & Development Associate at Rutgers Law School, where he leads fundraising activities and event planning initiatives.
