Marla Parker is a highly experienced and accomplished individual with a diverse background in public administration, management, social innovation, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and STEM policy. She is a teacher, coach, advisor, speaker, and writer with a Ph.D. in Public Administration, specializing in Public Management and Science and Technology Policy. She has a Master's degree in Public Administration, Information Systems, and Performance Management from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Bachelor's degree in General Studies, Information Technology, and Economics from the University of Michigan.

Marla is the founder of Sounding Board Solutions, a consultancy that provides assessments, professional development strategies, DEIB support, research services, strategic planning assistance, and speaking services. She is also a former Co-Founder of the Civic and Social Innovation Group at California State University-Los Angeles, a former Assistant Professor at California State University-Los Angeles, and a former Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Arizona State University.
