Alexandra Hannibal

Alexandra Hannibal is an accomplished Director of Content Development for CNN Films with an impressive background in documentary programming and acquisitions. Having joined CNN in 2016, she has been instrumental in the development and acquisition of CNN Films titles. Her most recent accomplishment includes serving as a senior producer for JOHN LEWIS: Good Trouble directed by Dawn Porter. She has also produced some sought-after titles such as SCANDALOUS: The True Story of the National Enquirer, LINDA RONSTADT: The Sound of My Voice, APOLLO 11, HALSTON, RBG, and THREE IDENTICAL STRANGERS.

Hannibal's passion for the art of filmmaking and storytelling began during her studies in Media Studies-Non Fiction Film at New School University, where she honed her craft. Prior to joining CNN, Alexandra served as the Manager of Documentary Programs at Tribeca Film Institute and as the Assistant Editor at Town Hall LLC. Such extensive experience in the media and entertainment industry has made her into an expert in documentary programming, content development, and production.

A former Coordinator and Associate Director of CNN Films, Hannibal transitioned into her current role, where she oversees the development of various thought-provoking and impactful documentaries. She has also served as a Tribeca All Access Coordinator at Tribeca Film Institute and a Special Events Coordinator at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

Currently based in Los Angeles, Hannibal is a force to reckon with in the filmmaking industry. Her background in Africana Studies/Performance Studies at New York University and her experience in the entertainment industry have made her a well-rounded and dynamic professional, bringing a wealth of experience to her role at CNN Films.
