Originally trained as a Doctor in Dental Surgery specializing in Orthodontics, Cherif Massoud identified the need for improving the accessibility and affordability of quality dental care. After recognizing the limitations of traditional dental braces, he innovated by introducing aligners as a more patient-friendly alternative.

This pursuit led to the founding of Crystalign in 2017 and Basma in 2020, with a primary focus on leveraging technology to revolutionize dental treatments, making them quicker, more efficient, and cost-effective.

Cherif Massoud's academic background includes entrepreneurship studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Diplome d'Etudes Superieures Specialisees in Orthodontics Residency Program from Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth, and Orthodontics and Dento Facial Orthopedics Residency Program from the American University of Beirut. Furthermore, he holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Saint Joseph University of Beirut and a French Scientific Baccalaureate from Collège Mariste Champville.

Throughout his career, Cherif Massoud has held key roles such as Co-Founder & CEO at Basma.com, Founder at Crystalign, and Lecturer at institutions like Université Antonine - UA and Saint Joseph University of Beirut. He has also practiced as an Orthodontist at Massoud Orthospace, showcasing his diverse skill set and commitment to innovation in healthcare.
