P. Tarter is a highly experienced lawyer, public figure, and entrepreneur with an impressive background in land use, economic development, and politics. She has travelled widely, gaining global perspectives that have helped her shape her local community. Her passion for creating greener spaces, better homes, safer streets, and greater economic opportunity for her community has led her to serve as Mayor of Falls Church, Virginia.
Tarter's legal expertise is well-regarded, with her having studied Doctor of Law (J.D.) at University of Virginia School of Law, and completed a European and English Law program at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She has worked as a partner at Tarter NoVa Law, PLC, as well as held positions at several top law firms, including Venable LLP and Lawson, Tarter & Charvet, P.C. In addition, she has served as the Chair of the Northern Virginia Regional Commission, Past President of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, and as the Past-Chair of the Falls Church Economic Development Authority.
