Software Engineer at Grammarly

Led UI Foundation team.
The team was created by my initiative from the engineers of Web Editor team.
It started from 3 engineers and was scaled to 7.
Main DRI in:
- [2021 H2 till 2023] Since company strategy shifted into native apps development, we decided to start a new endeavor - Server Driven UI. Main idea was to create a single place to contribute new text checks. Dozen of technical challenges and alignment between different teams and tech stacks. End solution tech stack: Java, Scala, Bazel
- [2021 H1] Migration of Editor Platform monorepo into Bazel; both local dev and CI/CD
- [2020 H2] Consolidated years of experience in using FRP into web framework https://github.com/grammarly/embrace (based on fp-ts,rxjs,react,focal) which enabled isolated development of new checks in Editor Platform codebase
- [2020 H2] Launch of refined UI/UX in the Grammarly Chrome Extension based on Editor Platform. Due to tight deadlines was required to coordinate 12 engineers in single codebase.
- [2020 H1] Major refactoring of Web Editor codebase to decouple reusable pieces of logic and UI/UX and creation of Editor Platform.

Led Web Editor team (app.grammarly.com)
Main technical interviewer; scaled team from 4 engineers to 12.
Major projects as IC:
- Migrated Web Editor text storage format to support rich text formatting (from changesets to quill delta). Unblocked creation of text checks which changes user text formatting.
- Dozen of iterations of new kind of text checks which improves clarity and effectiveness of user texts. Unblocked marketing team to start promoting Web Editor as a Writing Assistant tool.
- Mentoring and onboarding of 8 engineers in 3 years into Software Architecture and Functional Reactive Programming.

- [2017] major UI/UX overhaul of app.grammarly.com and dozens of iterations on it though A/B tests
- [2016] key engineer in rewriting app.grammarly.com to Typescript+RxJS+React+Focal(in-house state management library)
- [2015] key engineer in rewriting from scratch Grammarly Chrome Extension. Stack: JS, React,  Redux, Redux Sagas.
- [2014] Supported product strategy shift to freemium model on app.grammarly.com (web editor) and grammarly.com (selling landing)

Frontend Developer

Main project is developing of 3th party cartography API library (like google maps API).
- Developed a complex system of building project based on Gulp
- Worked with big structures of prototypical inheritance.
- Use TDD and write Unit tests.
- Worked on prototypes of interfaces.

Website development, using different technologies and frameworks. Lead team with 2 developers.
