Rosemary Francis
Rosemary Francis is an accomplished expert on computer architecture, high-performance computing, and analytics. She is the founder of Ellexus, the I/O profiling company, which has transformed the performance and efficiency of compute clusters and cloud compute for high-performance computing organizations worldwide. Her pioneering work at Ellexus led to its acquisition by Altair, a company that tries to offer software and cloud solutions for product design and development. Rosemary is also an expert in promoting diversity in engineering and education initiatives to encourage more children to learn about all spheres of computer science.
Rosemary's education background includes studying at The University of British Columbia, where she learned new concepts and ideas about computer science. She earned her PhD in Computer Architecture from the University of Cambridge and later studied for a BA/MA in Maths and Computer Science from the same institution.
Furthermore, Rosemary has held several positions within different organizations. She is currently the Chief Scientist, HPC at Altair, and previously served as a member of the Raspberry Pi Foundation and an advisory board member at IdeaSpace. In addition, Rosemary worked at Commsonic as a contract FPGA engineer, and as the Managing Director and CEO of Ellexus ltd. She has also worked at Simba HPC, CSR, Intel corporation, and Altera, where she was a summer intern.
