Lauren Ruiz is a highly experienced lead designer with a proven track record of successfully leading teams in a variety of design disciplines, including healthcare and education. Her experience in both consulting and in-house design has given her a unique perspective on the development and implementation of human-centered design methodologies, which she applies to create powerful and satisfying experiences for users. With a passion for teaching, Lauren has instructed courses for CooperU and the LUMA Institute training programs, as well as at UC Berkeley's Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation, Carnegie Mellon University, and California College of the Arts.

Lauren's background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Writing & English from Loyola Marymount University and a Masters in Design from Carnegie Mellon University. Throughout her career, she has worked with a diverse set of clients, including Solohealth, UPMC Enterprises, Bayer Healthcare, American Eagle Outfitters, United Airlines, and Booz Allen Hamilton, among others.

As a former Senior Product Designer at Fitbit, User Experience Lead for John Muir Health's eBusiness department, and Senior Interaction Designer at Cooper Standard, Lauren's expertise includes product strategy for digital devices, mobile apps, software, and cross-channel services. She has also brought service design, user research practices, and product design strategy to a range of industries, including consumer electronics, retail environments, educational systems, enterprise management, financial services, and speculative IoT systems.

Lauren is an active member of the design community - writing and speaking at industry events such as The Service Experience Conference, Design & Emotion, AIGA, and Health Innovation Summit.
