Software Engineer

- Designed and implemented the backend for automating order holds and releases for merchants using the Shopify Flow app using Ruby on Rails, GraphQL and MySQL that reduced the total order processing time from 53 hours to 29 hours. The feature was met with 100% MoM growth from the date of launch.
-  Refactored the local delivery and pickup features used by 10% of total merchants to integrate them into the new Shopify checkout platform (Checkout One) using Ruby on Rails, GraphQL and MySQL that increased the GMV of the features by approx 5%.
-  Migrated the product subscriptions feature from Checkout Classic to Checkout One using Ruby on Rails and MySQL that increased throughput to approx 35,000 subscription checkouts per minute.
-  Identified an opportunity and led the effort to reduce payload and optimize the Fulfillment Service GraphQL API using Ruby on Rails and GraphQL to decrease incoming query volume by 1.2 million requests per month.
-  Monitored Shopify’s core systems and implemented mitigations to ensure stability via Splunk, Datadog, and Bugsnag.

- Built model that uses sentiment analysis to develop a text classifier based on the data generated (as a data analyst) using Python (scikit-learn and NLTK libraries) with an F1 score of >0.95.
