Rowan Henderson is an experienced professional with an extensive background in curatorial work and research. Henderson studied Certificate IV in IT (Multimedia) - focus on digital services at ANU College, Master of Liberal Arts, Museums and Collections at The Australian National University, and Bachelor of Arts (Honours)/Laws (Honours), History at The University of Queensland. Over the years, Henderson has held various curator positions at national and state-level organizations like Canberra Museum and Gallery, Australian War Memorial, National Museum of Australia, and Queensland Museum. Currently, Henderson is serving as the Assistant Director, Exhibitions and Collections at Canberra Museum and Gallery.
As an Assistant Director, Exhibitions and Collections, Henderson is responsible for developing and implementing exhibition plans, producing exhibition-related publications, supervising staff, and overseeing the acquisition, cataloging, and documentation of collections. Henderson's previous experience as a Senior Curator of Social History at Canberra Museum and Gallery, and Acting Senior Curator, Social History, has equipped them with the skills required to manage historical and cultural artifacts, conduct research, and collaborate with community groups and stakeholders.
