Rounds offered instant group video chat on mobile. It was a live communication platform that made it easier, faster and more fun to connect to friends and family. Using Rounds, friends could get together and send text messages, video chat with up to 12 participants and engage in activities while chatting - to watch videos, play games, share photos and much more. Rounds operated across networks, operating systems, and devices and had over 30 million users worldwide. As a developer and a backend team lead, I managed and led technology and people in several projects- Implemented quality measurements for video and audio- Overcame networking and voip challenges such as, unsupported networks (IPV4-6), ISP and country level blocking, dynamic changes in throughput and bandwidth- Automation of the operation environment- Designed and implemented cost-effective load balancing for video chat, optimized for user experience, including routing by real-time data analysis- Manage MMs of concurrent connections to a push service, proprietary and one based on ejabberd, achieving additional scalability and flexibility by design and implemented 2 layer routing using Reddis- Designed and implemented multi-dimensional shortest path algorithm for users matching improving call duration x6
