Maureen Milligan
Maureen Milligan is a highly experienced professional with a diverse background in law, education, and community development. She holds a Juris Doctorate from American University's Washington College of Law and a Master of Education from the University of Virginia's Curry School of Education. Milligan also completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Duke University, where she graduated with distinction.
Throughout her career, Milligan has held various high-level positions in government, including Field Director at the National Development Council, Assistant Director and Special Advisor to the Department of Housing and Neighborhood Revitalization, Executive Assistant City Attorney and Chief of Community Prosecution, and Senior Assistant City Attorney and Deputy Chief of Community Prosecution & Community Courts at the City of Dallas. Milligan has also served as a Law Clerk for Judge Wm. F. Sanderson, Jr., at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas and as a Special Assistant United States Attorney at the United States Attorneys' Offices.
Before her career in law and government, Milligan worked as a librarian at Baltimore City Public Schools, a first-grade teacher at District of Columbia Public Schools through Teach for America, and even pursued legal studies as a visiting student at Southern Methodist University's Dedman School of Law.
