Worked across an Ember.js, Ruby on Rails stack to deliver key business features including: Creating a new system by which users paid for and tracked miles driven. Implementing a service to process and migrate cars from dealership inventory to Canvas’ platform.

Software Engineer

Lead a team of three engineers to develop a common UI component framework which, enabled uniform visual consistency across the app suite. Initially, built the project foundation, including build process, self-documenting development environment, deployment, and contribution process. Later, I managed the project as an internal, open source initiative. The project was adopted by 80+ engineers; it was built in React, but was designed to be framework agnostic.

Was the lead engineer on the company’s app suite admin portal. Enabled other engineers on the team by creating a robust, templated, redux-observable design pattern, an HTTP client aimed at providing a simple and efficient way of communicating with a myriad APIs, and a NodeJS micro-service for implementing AuthZ.

Finally, added support for Web Sockets to the company’s internal micro-service framework. Then, used these Web Sockets to create a Node service that served as the notification engine for the app suite. The service tailed the OpLog of a MongoDB collection and pushed notifications to the intended clients in real-time.

Senior Software Engineer

Created a Postman-like API client to enable the efficient creation and execution of complex queries for development and QA teams. Project was a web application built in AngularJS. Created an enterprise level inventory management web application for the restaurant industry. Challenges included creating data schemas, queries, and transformations to enable complex relational models in MongoDB.

Worked with a team of 8 to replace Makersquare's costly CRM and provide a product more tailored to the needs of a developer bootcamp.  The project was a web application using a tech stack that consisted of  Ruby on Rails, AngularJS, and Postgres.  My contributions included Google Oauth user authentication, implementation of a payments api and the necessary service layer methods,  multiple AngularJS view, routes, and controllers.

Mobilized as needed across a variety to projects and departments to accommodate startup needs.  Projects included: 2013 revenue forecast, creation of comprehensive competitor analysis, created a strategic marketing wiki which included market demand and product requirements.  Worked with product design to create an aesthetic solar array component.  Designed customer facing marketing collateral using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.  Produced, filmed and edited training videos.
