Julia Rose Polk is a skilled and experienced counseling psychologist and journalist with a focus on childhood trauma, abuse, and addiction. With an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and a B.A. in Journalism from DePaul University, Polk is an expert in the psychological principles and practices of Indigenous Americans. She has also studied developmental science and clinical practice, which led to her creating an online professional development program that will help teachers deal with childhood trauma effectively. Polk is the founder and President of Trauma Camp, an organization dedicated to reducing child abuse and the suffering of children. Her work experience includes being a licensed marriage and family therapist, lead therapist, trainer, adjunct professor, curriculum designer, and early childhood interventionist.
