Kathy Bowman-Williams

Kathy Bowman-Williams is a highly experienced professional with over 16 years of expertise in compliance, diversity and inclusion, training and development, and talent management. Currently serving as the Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Baker Botts LLP, she leads global initiatives focusing on diversity and inclusion and spearheads leadership development programs aimed at women and people of color. Kathy is renowned for launching the impactful “Competitive Advantage” workshops targeting women and people of color in 2012.

Prior to her current role, Kathy held various key positions at Verizon where she significantly contributed to driving diversity, community investment, and green programs. She led the expansion of diversity initiatives across multiple international locations, including Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Kathy's exceptional leadership was instrumental in repositioning the Verizon Employee Resource Groups by developing strategic initiatives aligned with the company's mission.

Kathy's professional journey also includes her involvement in industry organizations such as serving on the board of directors as the Membership Committee chair for the New Jersey Black Public Relations Society and as the Public Relations Committee Chair for the Consortium of Information Telecommunications Executives. She is a proactive advocate for diversity and inclusion within various professional realms.

With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Buffalo State College and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Syracuse University's Martin J. Whitman School of Management, Kathy has a solid educational foundation to complement her extensive practical experience. Her dedication to promoting diversity, empowering underrepresented groups, and enhancing leadership capabilities underscores her commitment to fostering inclusive work environments and driving organizational success.
