Tom Baumann is a prominent figure in the climate, cleantech, sustainability, and digital industries, with more than 25 years of experience working with hundreds of organizations. He has co-founded and worked in numerous digital start-ups, including Collaborase, ScribeHub, DigitalMRV, Xpansiv, and more.

Presently, Tom works as the co-founder and CEO of ClimateCHECK, where he leads a team specialized in innovative and trusted solutions for climate change, cleantech, and sustainability. He is also the co-founder and co-chair of the Climate Chain Coalition, a worldwide multi-stakeholder network of over 300 organizations in 50 countries that is committed to advancing blockchain to improve climate action. In addition to his work at ClimateCHECK, Tom co-leads DigitalMRV, a partnership with IOTA that aims to leverage innovative digital technologies to modernize MRV systems for the benefit of climate and sustainability.

Tom has extensive technical expertise in environmental engineering, GHG measurement, air pollution, clean technologies, and climate change economics, among other areas. He has written several reports on digital solutions for the World Bank and ITU and is a certified knowledge manager and registered professional engineer.

Tom's contribution to the climate and sustainability sector has earned him several accolades, including recognition as a Top 100 Fintech for SDG Influencer in 2019. His remarkable career also includes his role as the founding co-chair of the Hyperledger SIG for Climate Action & Accounting and co-chair of the Climate Action Working Group at INATBA.
