María Mateos Jiménez is a highly educated individual with a strong background in Pharmacy and Chemistry. She completed her A-levels in Science and Technology from the SEK Ciudalcampo International School, followed by a Bachelors's Degree in Pharmacy from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She has also studied Medicinal and Biological Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh, where she achieved an MSc with distinction. In addition, she completed a summer session at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Currently, María is a PhD candidate in Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh. She has previously worked at the Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Development at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, as an intern. She has also been a trainee at Pharmacy Carmen Kaiser and La Paz University Hospital. Her previous experiences include a research internship at the Department of Medicinal Chemistry at Uniwersytet Jagiellonski w Krakowie and voluntary work at the Department of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
