Iram Bilal is a Pakistani-American filmmaker and activist who creates socially conscious and entertaining content for TV and film globally. With a background in physics and environmental science, Bilal first made her mark in the entertainment industry with her feature film "Josh" which became Pakistan's first film to be available on Netflix and in the permanent selection at the US Library of Congress. She also directed the dystopian feature film "Extinction" which imagines the worst possible outcome of the Muslim Ban. Her latest project, based on a noted screenplay titled "Forbidden Steps," follows a Muslim cop in Chicago.

Bilal is also dedicated to giving back to both her local and global communities. She is an active board member for the Caltech Y, a prominent community service organization, and the founder of Pakistan's first professional screenwriting lab, QALAMBAAZ. Additionally, she is a member of various organizations dedicated to promoting fair representation of female directors in the entertainment industry, such as the Alliance of Women Directors and Film Fatales.

With specialties in screenwriting, directing, and high school math and science tutoring, Bilal is a multi-talented individual. She also has a passion for Bollywood dancing and frequently speaks about her belief that genuine curiosity is the antidote to fear.
