Ebrahim Moosa
Ebrahim Moosa is an accomplished Islamic studies professor with expertise in contemporary issues in Muslim ethics and law, Islamic reform, and medieval theology. He holds appointments at the University of Notre Dame, where he is a professor in both the History Department and the Kroc Institute for International Studies in the Keough School of Global Affairs. Moosa has also taught as a visiting professor at Stanford University and held positions at Duke University and the University of Cape Town, where he earned his PhD in religious studies with a focus on Islamic studies.
Moosa's research interests vary from the history and practice of contemporary Madrasa to the poetics of imagination. His latest book, What is a Madrasa? (2015), not only provides insight into the current state of Madrasa, but also shares his unique experience studying Islamic studies in India. Moosa has published countless papers and articles in his area of study and his work can be found on academia.edu.
