Vladimir Makarov
Vladimir Makarov is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in business development, informatics, and biotechnology. He holds a Ph.D. in computational biology from Baylor College of Medicine, an MBA from Pepperdine University, and an M.S. in chemistry from Northern Illinois University. With a diploma summa cum laude in biophysics from Lomonosov Moscow State University, he boasts a decorated academic record.
Makarov also has a wealth of experience working with large organizations as well as start-ups. He has worked in several key positions such as a consultant for Bioinformatics Lead at PIPA LLC, where he was responsible for consulting, project management, and business analysis. He also served as a consultant for AI and ML Centre of Excellence Program Manager at Pistoia Alliance, Inc, where he was responsible for developing machine learning and artificial intelligence strategies.
Further, he worked with Monsanto as Bioinformatics and Data Management Lead (Director), BT Global Services as Life Sciences Project CTO, and Prosapia Genetics LLC as Co-founder, among others. He has consulted different organizations, including Pfizer, Amgen, and Baxter Bioscience.
Furthermore, Makarov has taught as an adjunct professor at California State University, Channel Islands, and UMUC - University of Maryland University College. He has a keen interest in international business, off-shore outsourcing, pharmaceuticals, bioinformatics, cheminformatics, medical informatics, and molecular modeling.
