David Alston is a successful entrepreneur, marketer, and coach based in New Brunswick, Canada. With over 20 years of experience in the tech and marketing startup industry, Alston has an impressive background. He is the founder and coach at Marketswell Solutions’ CMO Accelerator program, where he helps startup entrepreneurs overcome challenging hurdles in their businesses. Alston is a mentor at Nomadic Mentors, a keynote speaker, and an advisor to numerous startups in the Atlantic region. He co-founded Brilliant Labs and is a past co-chair of LivingSJ. Alston is also the KIRA Award's Industry Champion for 2015, ranked on Forbes' Top 50 CMO in social media, a 2014 EY Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year Award winner for Atlantic Canada, and the recipient of the 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year Award and co-winner of Enterprise Promotion for the Atlantic Region from Startup Canada. He was recognized with the Greater Saint John Community Foundation’s 2018 Community Service Award. Alston served in many organizations, including BCAPI, United Way, and as an independent director on the board of Envision Saint John, and Vice Chair on the board of Saint John Energy. He is also on Venture for Canada's national advisory board. Alston is a former Chief Entrepreneur in Residence at the New Brunswick Government, and the former CMO of Salesforce Radian6 and Senior Director of Marketing/Product Planning at iMagicTV. Alston is also a co-owner of TimberTop Adventures, one of the largest treetop aerial adventure parks in Canada.
