Chris White is a mathematician turned machine learning engineer who is passionate about building data-intensive tools that expose the right abstractions. White received a Ph.D. in Mathematics from The University of Texas at Austin. He spent time there as a Math Department Ombudsman and a Teaching Assistant/Supplemental Instructor. In addition to his academic experience, White has held various professional positions at companies like Capital One, HRL Laboratories, and Prefect. He has worked as a Principal Quantitative Analyst, Principal Data Scientist, and Manager, Data Scientist. Currently, White is the Chief Technology Officer at Prefect.

Throughout his career, White has remained committed to data-driven optimization problems. He has developed and analyzed new problems and worked on consulting and personal projects related to analyzing data and modeling. With experience in both academia and industry, White possesses a unique blend of theoretical and practical expertise in mathematics, data science, and machine learning.
