Ewout Kramer is an accomplished architect and software engineer, specializing in clinical messaging standards and architecture within the medical domain.
He holds a diverse educational background, having studied at Blaise Pascal College, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and Chinese College Nederland.
Ewout has been actively involved in various roles across different organizations, including being a FHIR evangelist, speaker, and tutor at Firely, and a former board member at the FHIR Foundation.
His professional experience includes serving as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at MindApp / Into the Clear, consulting on nation-wide use of FHIR at Helse Vest, and leading development for HL7 FHIR at HL7 International.
Ewout has a rich history of contributions to the medical field, having worked as a consultant on utilizing FHIR and treatment guidelines at prominent institutions such as the National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN®) and McKesson Specialty Health.
He has also been involved in building HL7 FHIR validation tooling for NHS Digital and served as an advisor on medical intelligence and clinical data repositories at UMC Utrecht and Leiden University Medical Center.
With past roles including EPR Architect at Radboud University Medical Centre Nijmegen, EPD architect at UMC St Radboud, and standards developer at Parelsnoer Initiatief, Ewout possesses a wealth of experience in architecting and implementing complex healthcare systems.
