Evan Hansen is a recognized leader in the digital media industry, boasting more than 15 years of experience leading multimedia and product teams. Throughout his career, Hansen has been able to achieve incredible feats, from developing Wired Magazine's online presence and growing their digital revenue from $5M to $25M, to conceiving and implementing Medium's publication strategy, launching twelve unique professionally-produced magazines, and generating upwards of $2M in revenue. Hansen's expertise extends to digital media projects, where he has led teams that piloted and launched more than seven notable and award-winning projects, including a pilot automated sports headline-writing service, Secure Drop, Haiti Rewired, and more. Hansen co-founded Factland.org, a nonprofit using blockchain technologies to label misinformation online, recruited the initial development team, created its mission and launched a beta.
Hansen's education includes studying for his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Philosophy at the University of Toronto - University College and receiving his Master's degree in Philosophy at Queen's University. He has held several high-profile positions, including Director at Emerging Curation at Twitter and Head of Content Labs at Medium. In the past, he was the Editor in Chief at Wired Magazine, where he helped grow their digital presence significantly.
