Eva van Kemenade
PhD at University of Warwick & University of Amsterdam (joint doctorate)
Eva van Kemenade is a joint doctorate student at the University of Warwick and the University of Amsterdam, focusing on the political implications of popular festive rituals in Renaissance Italy.
Her research combines popular politics, sensorial history, and book history to analyze the festivals' political meanings through space, vision, smell, sound, and print.
Additionally, she serves as a research fellow and lecturer in Book History at the Royal Dutch Institute in Rome (KNIR).
Eva has an extensive educational background, including studying Cum laude at Stedelijk Gymnasium Arnhem, Research Master/PhD at Medici Archive Project in Florence, and Doctor of Philosophy in Renaissance Studies at the University of Warwick.
She was also involved in various academic institutions such as the Universiteit van Amsterdam, EHESS, Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, and Université Paris-Sorbonne.
Eva's professional experience includes roles as a PhD Researcher at the University of Warwick, Lecturer and Junior Research Fellow at The Royal Netherlands Institute in Rome, and Visiting Researcher at École française de Rome, among others.
She has a diverse background, having also worked as a History Teacher Intern, Interpreter, and Italian Teacher at different organizations.
