Eva Gladek

Eva Gladek is the founder and CEO of Metabolic, a consulting, research, and venture-building firm focused on tackling global sustainability challenges and advancing a circular economy.1 Metabolic uses systems thinking to address major sustainability issues with the mission of transitioning the global economy to a sustainable and circular state.24 The company is headquartered in Amsterdam and has an international, interdisciplinary team.24 Metabolic provides strategies and tools, data analysis, new technologies, pilot projects, and scaled-up innovations and empowers people through education, reaching underserved communities through its foundation.24

Gladek has worked with organizations across economic sectors, from cities and NGOs to industry leaders, addressing complex sustainability questions with science and systems thinking.1 Over the past 10 years, she has developed methodologies for systems transformation, circular economy, and sustainable design.1 She speaks at various forums and events, sharing her vision for collective impact and is considered a top influencer in sustainability in the Netherlands.1

Gladek has a master’s degree in industrial environmental management from Yale University and a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from Amherst College.1 Prior to Metabolic, Gladek was a Technical Director, Industrial Ecologist & Sustainability Consultant at Except Integrated Sustainability from 2008 to 2012, an Expert and Strategist at Circle Economy from 2013 to 2015, a Writer and Researcher at Yale Center for Environmental Law and Policy from 2007 to 2009, a Project Manager at Green Electronics Council in 2008, and a Research Assistant at GreenBlue in 2008.3
