Eugene Smit

Eugene Smit is a seasoned financial professional currently serving as Vice President for Multi-Asset Solutions at AB. He specializes in portfolio construction, factor research, quantitative research and portfolio management system design and development, financial data curation, SQL, VBA, and Matlab. Eugene has a background in marketing with a degree from the University of Cape Town and a certification in Chartered Financial Analysis from the CFA Institute. His professional career began with lecturing at UCT, and he later served as COO at Bridgewater Learning, a Project and Account Manager at Liquid Thought and Tutor at the University of Cape Town. Before his Vice Presidency at AB, Eugene worked in multiple programming and analyst roles at AB. His background in both academia and the private sector makes him a well-rounded asset to any team.
