Eugene Morris
Eugene Morris is a prominent figure in the advertising industry, known for his extensive career spanning over four decades. He began his journey in advertising in 1968 as a media department intern at Foote, Cone & Belding (FCB) while studying marketing at Roosevelt University in Chicago. His early career included significant roles at Burrell Advertising, where he served as an account supervisor and media director, contributing to the agency's growth and success with major clients like McDonald's and Coca-Cola.12
In 1987, he co-founded Morris Randall Advertising, which later became E. Morris Communications, Inc. (EMC). Under his leadership, EMC earned numerous accolades and was recognized as one of the top African American advertising agencies in the United States. Morris was also an advocate for diversity within the industry and held leadership positions in various organizations, including the Association of Black Owned Advertising Agencies.1
After retiring in 2013, Morris has remained active in civic affairs and continues to contribute to discussions about diversity and representation in advertising.1 His career is marked not only by his professional achievements but also by his commitment to fostering opportunities for African American-owned agencies within the advertising sector.
