Ethan Lazarus

Ethan Lazarus is a prominent figure in the field of obesity medicine, currently serving as the President Elect of the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA). He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and is also board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Lazarus has been practicing full-time in obesity medicine since 2004 at the Clinical Nutrition Center in Greenwood Village, Colorado, where he focuses on medically supervised weight loss programs.
His leadership roles within the OMA include past positions as President and Assistant Vice President, and he has been involved with the organization since at least 2013. He has played a significant role in advocating for the recognition of obesity as a disease and has introduced policies aimed at improving obesity education and reducing weight bias.156
Dr. Lazarus holds a medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and completed his residency in family medicine at John Peter Smith Hospital in Texas. He has received several awards for his contributions to obesity medicine, including the Obesity Medicine Clinician of the Year in 2015 and the Healthcare Advocate of the Year by the Obesity Action Coalition in 2018.245
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Lazarus is also involved in academic pursuits as a Senior Clinical Instructor at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, where he participates in training future specialists in obesity medicine.13 Outside of his professional commitments, he enjoys outdoor activities and is an accomplished musician.24
